The Planning Applications that have been received to date (15/04/26) to be discussed at the Planning and Environment Committee meeting to be held on Monday, 27 April 2026 can be viewed under the Committees tab. If you wish to make a comment on any of the applications please email the Clerk to the Committee, Georgina Wakely G.Wakely@dorchester-tc.gov.uk by 9am on Wednesday, 22 April 2026.

 

Any additional applications received between 22/04/26 and 27/04/26 will be included in the agenda for the Planning and Environment Committee which will be published on 22/04/26.

 

 

 

 

What the Planning and Environment Committee does

Delegated Powers:

The powers, duties and functions of the Council relating to:

 

Consideration of Planning Applications and the submission of observations on them to the Local Planning Authority.

 

Observations (as necessary) to the responsible Authority on matters affecting the environment, traffic management and public transport in the Town.

 

Footpaths, bridlepaths and rights of way.

 

Street Naming.

Referred Business:

To consider and report to the Council on:

 

All major development proposals affecting the environment of the Town.

 

The Local Development Plan

 

Developments which, in the opinion of the Committee, would be of benefit to the Town.
