Remembrance Sunday Service

On Sunday 8th November, Dorchester will gather at the War Memorial to honour Remembrance Sunday.
Starting at 10:55 am, the service will be led by the Reverend Keith Magee, with tributes from the Mayor of Dorchester, local dignitaries and associations.
At 10.30am the 6th Battalion The Rifles will parade from the Army Reserve Centre, along High West Street, South Street and Trinity Street to take up position by the War Memorial.
At 10.45am, the Remembrance Parade will depart from North Square and parade along South Street to the War Memorial. The parade will include the Mayor of Dorchester, Councillors, veterans, cadets and youth groups such as the Boys Brigade, Scouts, Girl Guides and Rugby Club.
The service will include a reading by the Mayor, the The Last Post pera young student, and the laying of wreaths by community groups and organisations. As we remember the sacrifices made, we invite everyone to join in a moment of reflection and gratitude. The service will conclude with prayers, a blessing, and the National Anthem.
Following the Remembrance Service, there will be a short ceremony near the German prisoners of war memorial in the churchyard of St George's Church, Fordington, at 12.30pm. All are welcome to attend.
