Sundays at Fairfield

Dorchester's Sunday car boot sale at Fairfield is a much-loved fixture of many locals' weeks.

The site, which offers indoor, outdoor and uncover stalls, is opened to sellers from 6.30am and from 7am for those on the hunt for a bargain. The car boot sale ends at 12.30pm.

Pitch fees are currently £8 for a standard pitch, or £15 for those looking for a bigger space. Regular traders pay £20. All fees are payable on the day by cash or card.

The Dorchester Market Car Boot Fund

The income generated by the Sunday Car Boot Sale is distributed annually to community and voluntary organisations in and around Dorchester through the Dorchester Market Car Boot Fund. So whether you're a seller, a buyer, or just browsing, your presence at the car boot sale helps make a real difference to people across the local area.

Who benefits?

Grants of up to £1,000 are available to local groups and organisations whose work benefits residents living within the Dorchester area. In 2024, over £12,000 was awarded to local organisations. Previous recipients have included sports clubs, youth projects, groups supporting people with disabilities or long-term health conditions, and projects tackling social isolation.

How to apply

The Fund opens for applications annually, with decisions made in time for successful groups to be notified before Christmas. Successful applicants are invited to a celebration event to share news about their projects.
