Poundbury Ward

William was elected as an Independent Councillor for the Poundbury Ward in May 2024. He was previously chair of the Poundbury Residents Association ( PRA) from 2017-2020.

William says ...

"I moved to Dorchester in 2001 and onto Poundbury in 2011. I live in St  John Way virtually on the Great Field, which is managed by the council and on the door step for exercising my two dogs. I believe that Poundury is a great mixed community and is a huge  asset to Dorchester.

I have served as a Magistrate in Dorset, as a Poole Harbour  Commissioner , Chair of the Out of Court Disposal Scrutiny Panel for the Dorset Police and Crime Commissioner and as a Volunteer for AGE UK. My career was mainly in the Cruise and Ferry sector and I was Director of the Passenger Shipping Association for nearly twenty years

I shall serve the Council to the best of my ability and hope that my “ Independence” will make a difference. "
