Grants

Each year the Council gives grants to local organisations. The grants are usually fairly small, between £50 and £500, as the Council believes that the limited resources which are available should benefit as many people as possible. This includes but is not limited to groups that support vulnerable people, art/ culture, young people, reducing climate change, sport, heritage, outdoor spaces, health and wellbeing

The Council will usually only consider grant applications for specific projects rather than a contribution towards ongoing or revenue costs. Full application guidance notes are included with the grant application form.

Grants may also be available from a number of other organisations. Both Dorset Council and the Dorset Community Action employ officers who would be willing to assist you in finding suitable grant opportunities and their contact details are set out below:-
