David Leaper

David was Elected to the Town Council in May, 2019.

David says ...

"I have a long connection with Dorset and have lived in Dorchester for 15 years. I am actively involved in the local community, having served as Chair of the Poundbury Residents Association from 2014-17. I have an in-depth understanding of the issues that are unique to Poundbury which I hope to use in effectively representing the new Poundbury Ward.

As a former senior academic and consultant general surgeon, I have experience of hospital management and local, national and international societies and associations. I now work as a part-time consultant in teaching and research. I am vice president of the Dorchester Rugby Club and the Society of Dorset Men, I have a boat in Weymouth and interests in conservation roles in West Dorset. I love the Dorset countryside and its coastline and wish to continue promoting the culture and environment of Dorchester and West Dorset and help its economic growth to flourish with well-being for all local people."
