Richard Biggs

Richard was first elected to the Council in 1993 and was Mayor in 1997-98 and 2005-06. He is Vice-Chair of the Policy Committee and also serves on the Dorchester Joint Burial Committee.

He represents the Council on Age Concern Dorchester and is a current member of Dorset County Council and a former member of West Dorset District Council.

Richard says ...

"I have been a member of the Town Council since the early 1990s. Arriving as a baby, I have lived in the county town all my life.

I think I have been an active member and I have served on most committees over the years; I have also had the honour of serving two terms as the Town Mayor.

I am in full time employment as a civil servant with the Ministry of Defence as well as serving as a county councillor for the town. I am a keen runner, walker and cyclist, and would like to make the town more accessible for these activities."
