Trevor was first elected to the Council in 1976.  He has been Mayor three times, in 1982-83, 1992-93 and 2002-03.  He has also been Mayor's Escort twice, in 1988-89 and 2000-01 when his wife Stella was Mayor.

Trevor chairs the Policy Committee and the Resources Panel and is also a member of the Planning and Environment Committee.

He represents the Council on the Dorchester Joint Burial Committee and the Dorchester Markets Joint Committee. He is also a member of Dorset County Council, West Dorset District Council and the Dorset Fire and Rescue Authority.

"Having been in public life for approaching 40 years I like to think that I have successfully campaigned for many improvements in and around Dorchester down the years and have been able to help countless local people with their problems and concerns.

A former leader of the County Council, I was awarded the OBE for public services some years ago.  Presently I carry out support work for councils up and down the country and am chair of the Local Government Pensions Committee which provides specialist advice to councils throughout the United Kingdom.  In addition I am Vice-Chair of the Scrutiny Panel of the Local Government Association.

My wife Stella and I have lived in Dorchester for very many years, have four children and eight grandchildren.  My wife is also a long-serving councillor and a reception class teacher at Damers School.  If either of us can help in any way please get in touch."
