Tim Harries

Tim was first elected to the Council in 1987 and has served three terms as Mayor, in 1995-96, 2004-05 and 2016-17.

He is a member of the Planning and Environment and Policy Committees.

Tim says ...

"I have lived in and around Dorchester all my life. I was educated at Hardye's and worked in the Local NHS for 23 years. I ran my own taxi business until retiring in 2018.

I have been a Town Councillor since 1987 and was a West Dorset District Councillor from 1991 - 2019. I have also been Mayor three times.

I am a member of the local Lions Club and Steve Charles Help a Friend charity.

My son runs several local businesses and my daughter teaches at Dorchester Ballet Club. My late father served for many years in the Dorset, then Devon and Dorset, Regiment and my mother was also a District Councillor.

I am a keen supporter of local charities, the Keep Museum and Keep 106 Radio."
